Exterior cleaning matched to the surface

Soft washing, pressure washing, and pure-water window cleaning each solve a different problem for Christchurch and Canterbury properties. We assess the material and condition before recommending a method.

Exterior cleaning services

Soft washing

Low-pressure application of a controlled cleaning solution to treat mould, algae, moss, lichen, and organic growth on suitable exterior surfaces around Christchurch and Canterbury.

Best for: Organic growth on suitable cladding, roofs, fences, brick, and block where blasting would risk damage or leave roots behind.

Method: A controlled sodium-hypochlorite-based solution is applied at low pressure, allowed to dwell so it works at the source, then thoroughly rinsed.

Why it helps: Treats growth rather than only knocking it off the surface, which can mean a cleaner finish that lasts longer between maintenance cleans.

Care notes: Plant-aware preparation and rinsing are part of the process. Not every surface is suitable, and no exterior clean is zero-risk—tell us about gardens or fragile finishes when you request a quote.

Pressure washing

Higher-pressure water for durable hard surfaces where pressure is appropriate—chosen for the material after assessment, not used by default.

Best for: Durable concrete driveways, paths, patios, pavers, and certain retaining walls that can safely take higher-pressure water.

Method: Higher-pressure water is used only after the material and condition have been assessed, with pressure matched to what the surface can take.

Why it helps: Clears heavy soiling and grime from tough hard landscaping quickly when soft washing is not the better tool for that surface.

Care notes: Pressure is not the default for delicate cladding, painted finishes, or weathered materials. If organic growth or surface condition calls for a gentler approach, we will say so.

Pure-water window cleaning

Exterior window cleaning with a purified water-fed pole system for a streak-free finish from the ground—up to about 5 metres, suited to homes and low-rise commercial glass.

Best for: Exterior residential windows and low-rise commercial glass up to about 5 metres where ground-based reach is practical.

Method: Purified deionised water is delivered through a water-fed pole, leaving no chemical residue on the glass as it dries clear.

Why it helps: Streak-free exterior glass without climbing around the building, which keeps the job tidy and focused from the ground.

Care notes: Reach is limited to about 5 metres from the ground. Higher glass, interior windows, or complex access may need a different approach—mention height and access when you quote.
