Services

The right clean for the surface

Three focused exterior-cleaning services, each selected for the material and condition.

  • Illustrative soft washing of exterior cladding

    Soft washing

Low-pressure application of a controlled cleaning solution to treat mould, algae, moss, lichen, and organic growth on suitable exterior surfaces around Christchurch and Canterbury.

    Best fit and method

Best for: Organic growth on suitable cladding, roofs, fences, brick, and block where blasting would risk damage or leave roots behind.

A controlled sodium-hypochlorite-based solution is applied at low pressure, allowed to dwell so it works at the source, then thoroughly rinsed.

  • Illustrative pressure washing of a concrete path

    Pressure washing

Higher-pressure water for durable hard surfaces where pressure is appropriate—chosen for the material after assessment, not used by default.

    Best fit and method

Best for: Durable concrete driveways, paths, patios, pavers, and certain retaining walls that can safely take higher-pressure water.

Higher-pressure water is used only after the material and condition have been assessed, with pressure matched to what the surface can take.

  • Illustrative pure-water cleaning of exterior glass

    Pure-water window cleaning

Exterior window cleaning with a purified water-fed pole system for a streak-free finish from the ground—up to about 5 metres, suited to homes and low-rise commercial glass.

    Best fit and method

Best for: Exterior residential windows and low-rise commercial glass up to about 5 metres where ground-based reach is practical.

Purified deionised water is delivered through a water-fed pole, leaving no chemical residue on the glass as it dries clear.

Softwashing

Treat growth at the source

Softwashing uses low pressure and a controlled cleaning solution so organic growth can be treated thoroughly—often reducing the need for aggressive pressure on suitable surfaces. We prepare with plant-aware rinsing in mind; no clean is zero-risk, and not every surface suits every method.

  1. Low pressure

Cleaning solution is applied gently—so surfaces are treated, not blasted.

  2. Controlled solution

A measured mix targets mould, algae, moss, lichen, and organic growth.

  3. Dwell time

The treatment works at the source while we watch over plants and surrounds.

  4. Thorough rinse

Residue is rinsed away, leaving a cleaner surface ready to stay that way longer.

Method choice

Softwash versus pressure washing

The correct method depends on the material and condition. Pressure washing is not universally wrong—it is simply the wrong tool for some surfaces.

  • Controlled cleaning solution

Pressure washing

  • Higher-pressure water where the surface can take it
  • Suited to durable hard surfaces
  • Concrete, paths, patios, pavers, some retaining walls
  • Used when pressure is the right tool—not by default

FAQ

Common questions

Straight answers about methods, surfaces, plants, timing, quoting, and maintenance.

How do you choose between soft washing and pressure washing?

We assess the material and condition first. Soft washing uses low pressure and a controlled solution for organic growth on suitable exterior surfaces. Pressure washing is reserved for durable hard surfaces—such as concrete, paths, patios, pavers, and some retaining walls—where higher-pressure water is appropriate.

Which surfaces are suitable?

Suitability depends on the surface and its condition. Soft washing is commonly used on homes, cladding, roofs where suitable, fences, and other exterior surfaces with organic growth. Pressure washing suits tougher hard landscaping. Not every surface is a fit for every method—that is part of the assessment.

What about plants, gardens, and surrounds?

We use plant-aware preparation and rinsing around sensitive areas. No exterior clean is completely risk-free, so preparation and care matter. Tell us about special plantings or concerns when you request a quote.

How long does a typical job take?

Timing depends on property size, access, surface types, and how much growth is present. After we understand the job, we can outline an expected window for your property.

How does pricing and quoting work?

Every property is different, so we quote from the surfaces and condition—not a one-size price list. Share photos and location through the Property Check form, or call, and we will recommend the right clean.

Will growth come back?

Soft washing treats organic growth at the source, which can mean a longer-lasting result than a surface-only blast. Recurrence still depends on exposure, shade, moisture, and property conditions. Maintenance cleans help keep the presentation where you want it.
